I went to one of those meetings at a library 6 years when the library was going to have a drag queen story hour. The WOMEN for it, yes it was all women, who showed up with their children looked like what you'd expect. I felt sorry for the kids. One mom got up and claimed her son liked dressing in girl's clothes and he had a right to be different. He was pale & lethargic. He looked to be drugged to me.

It was a pathetic bunch of adults. It was clear from the testimonies of the alphabet people there that the adults were inflicting this on their kids.



(Of course, the library had the event anyway.)

I think of that boy occassionally. He'd be 12 - 14 now. I do feel sorry for him. I can only imagine the miserable life he has if he's even alive.


Around about the same time a local 12 year old only child "came out". Her mother (& a teacher) swung into action. She set up an organization for gay kids in the community & school. Got sponsorships for events. Got lots of media attention. She'd previously been an "activist" against guns.I wondered at the time what dear mommy would do when the girl got a bit older & decided she wasn't a homosexual.
