If there is a specific moment this "Gain of F**k-Ton" ADE scenario hit the RADAR it was the 2012 Challenge Trial ( https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article/file?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0035421&type=printable ) in which ferrets given an experimental Virus-Like-Particles vaccine (with excellent antibody response!) suffered complete lung opacity and death when exposed to the natural SARS-1.
I find this paper brilliant because the researchers made a connection with the 1966 RSV disaster (
http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/26.... ) I can only describe as "not all immunity is created equal". And cautioned against human trials in plain language, something you don't often see in a research paper.
'Monocultures' are bad in nature and exist on borrowed time. Vaccination can short-circuit human evolutionary diversity in a similar way, and for years I have been cautioning against way-too-casual or way-too-complete vaccination, lest the human race becomes 'Dutch Elm'd'. They were highly coveted beautiful and practical trees that grew quickly and stayed away from underground utilities. Which is why many cities are treeless today.
