President Trump was AGAINST the lockdowns, but he apparently didn't know enough to fire bad people. The COVID Task-force, headed by Pence, was dominated by Deborah Birx, and SHE was the one who recommended the lockdowns. Trump didn't seem to have the gumption to publicly disagree with her. He let the Task-force recommendations become WH policy. This is all documented in Dr. Scott Atlas's book, "A Plague Upon Our House."
