@Wakeupcall -- While antibody protection can cross it's not something that expresses in germ cells, so no. The placenta does allow IgG antibodies to pass though so maternal antibody protection can be expressed in the fetus and child after birth. As such I would expect a child born to a vaccinated mother is likely to get fucked HARD as would any other person who took the vaccine. If Mom gets hit the baby is probably screwed INSTANTLY, especially if breastfeeding.

Assuming we stop vaccination the antibody titer is likely to wane within a couple of years but exactly how quickly it wanes is not known as we simply don't have enough time in testing with these vaccines. How well a created virus could target the residual B and T cell recognition (I would assume that develops as it does with an infection) I do not know; if that happens, and it might, then unfortunately the damage could be permanent or at least last MANY years (perhaps decades!) with anyone who took the shot.
