Congratulations Karl, you look great! I am 50 myself, and weigh 165 pounds, and am thin with an actual six-pack on my abs. I do sit-ups, push-ups, pull-ups and chin-ups, and use a variety of dumb bells up to 50 pounds in my workouts. I do sit-ups holding the weights behind my head, hold a weight over my head and bend over to touch the floor. Also have a full set of Captains of Crush hand grip strengtheners, from 60 lbs to 360 lbs. I can do up to the 200 pounder now, wanna shake hands?? ;-)

I just paid $800 cash to buy a brand new 27 speed bike, and also have an old 12 speed Bianchi on a fluid trainer in the garage, for bad weather days and cold days. So I am fit, and the only things I cannot control are my bad ears and eyes. Nothing to be done but live with them.

I also smoke cigars, albeit occassionally, like once a week or so. Hit the bottle moderately every night. So vices I got, but I enjoy them.

Have not been to a doctor for so long, I forget what the inside of a doctor's office looks and smells like. And I feel frikkin fantastic. I have been doing the regular exercise thing ever since I graduated high school in 79. So obviously it pays huge dividends in the long run.

The rest of my family all have real bad health, and their regimen of pills to take every day, including my younger brother and sister. Sure wish they would look at the difference, and start acting accordingly.

You can lead a horse to water, you cannot make it drink.

Once again, you look great. Way better than the average Joe. Keep it up.

I work for the government, (I know, I know! But it was there when I had been out of work for 11 months. No one else wanted to even interview me) doing mainttenance on aircraft (something I have done since I graduated as well), not riding a desk. I started there in late 09 and turned down medical coverage for two years. But my wife finally convinced me I need it, as I ride a motorcycle regularly and if something happens it would be best to have it. Also riding bicycles is not risk free. So, I just two weeks ago finally took some medical coverage, Blue Cross / Blue Shield. Doubt that I'll ever use it, but who knows??
