Great job, Karl. Kudos for sticking to it. I've been a gym rat for about 25 years, with the exception of 3 years in my late 30's when a downward spiral into alcoholism almost put me in the grave. Since 2003, I've been (sober and) steady at it again. I'm 5'9" and pretty lean at 175, but I haven't really worked on cardio at all until the last 3 years. I feel so much better now that I incorporate cardio into my routine. And, I just signed up for kick boxing classes at my gym, and the conditioning in those classes is intense. I'm looking forward to it. As one-legged said, if you find something you enjoy that gives you the excercise and exertion you need to maintain a decent level of fitness, you find that it isn't inconvenient or a burden to do it. You obviously like the bike, and that's one of my favorites as well. If you're lucky enough to live near the beach, riding a bike on the beach is great excercise and the scenery ain't bad, either. 2012-01-08 16:08:16
