@Robackrman
Those people are evil to the core. Once someone hits 70, they have a roughly 3% chance of dying in the next 18 months. At 80, this increases to roughly 10%. These are about the same as the published Covid case fatality rates for these groups. BUT, we know 80% of the population was immune 18 months ago, and even more have natural immunity today.
So for every one grandparent "saved" by not seeing their grandchildren (which is bullshit anyway, since this assumes 0% risk if they don't see them, but 100% risk if they do), five grandparents will die without never seeing their grandchildren again. And the real number is probably more like a 50:1 ratio when you consider the actual risk profile, and the fact that not seeing their grandchildren is adding an inordinate amount of stress to their lives, which destroys their immune systems and everything else that is good.
