Damn near every financial institution has a watch list on that "SSN Master Death List" with SSA too. The speed with which various financial entities knew she was dead was flat-out astounding.
Perhaps it was not this way many years ago but it sure as hell is now; this was ~2 years back.
Incidentally May God Have Mercy On You if somehow you managed to get into that file and are not dead! I suspect fixing that could get REAL interesting.
