The title of this article is not hyperbole.

Gene Sperling was just on CNBC saying that health care must be treated as a right and essentially deferring the debate as to how to pay for all of that -- and of course he trotted out the trope of a kid born with severe disabilities bankrupting his or her parents.

Health care is, today, almost 20% of our economy.  One dollar in five.

80% of that is stolen through fraud, felony, extortion, racketeering and anti-trust.  All of these are illegal and in the case of anti-trust have been illegal for almost 100 years.  There have been no changes to 15 USC Chapter 1 exempting medical providers, pharmaceutical firms or others involved in the supply of drugs, devices, implements, supplies and services to these laws.

Twice various elements of the medical monopolists and insurance firms have gone to the US Supreme Court challenging said laws.  They lost both cases, with the latter being in the early 1980s.

Having lost twice in trying to get legal exemptions for their conduct these industries turned to bribing politicians and issuing tropes like Gene just ran in the national media, asserting that it's a "right" not to be bankrupted because you give birth to a severely-deformed or disabled child, and as a result everyone's health care, from birth to death, is a fundamental right you can extract by force from others.

Gene is not some random idiot.  He has been Director of the National Economic Council and an assistant to the President for economic policy under two administrations -- Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.

He is 60 years old -- not much older than I.

And if this crap does not stop right here and now by politically shooting people, rendering them pariahs in society and removing their bull**** from the political stage millions of Americans are going to die in the same sort of horrible way that the Jews did in Auschwitz -- either by being literally shot, shoved into boxcars and then ovens or by writhing in pain when the government collapses under its own fiscal weight and the entirety of the US medical system comes down and is burnt to the ground with it.

Gene does not give a flying **** about any of this because he considers himself to be an "elite" and "protected"; indeed he has just five short years before he believes he can steal all the health care he wants, irrespective of his personal decisions, from you, I and everyone else.

Unfortunately you can't print health care with the press of a button.  You can print paper or electronic dollars but not goods and services; that is, actual value.  You cannot compel a nurse to attend you or a doctor to perform surgery.

Competition and technology makes everything cheaper in real terms over time.  Gene knows this is an economic fact as he's an economist.  It is the very definition of the word "productivity"; doing more with less.

Yet despite one of the greatest bursts of productivity the world has ever seen over the last 50 years health care has gone from 3-4% of GDP to almost 20%, a five-fold increase in allocation in the economy -- or put it another way health care has seen an 80% regression in productivity per unit of expense.

The only reason this sort of outrageous regression has ever happened in the history of the economic world is fraud, extortion, racketeering and monopolization. It was that very recognition by Congress that led to the passage of 15 United States Code.  That law has been on the books for nearly one hundred years and so stands today yet not one prosecutor will or has empaneled a Grand Jury, subpoenaed all of said records from the medical systems under their jurisdiction and returned true bills against every single hospital system, insurer, pharmaceutical company, distributor and officer of same, including individual physicians, all of whom can be trivially demonstrated to have colluded to fix prices and restrain trade.

At the same time we have enabled and cheered on all manner of intentionally self-destructive behavior that has increased the utilization of said goods and services to an enormous degree.  We have sold to the American Public an intentionally false model of what to eat.  We have affirmed "healthy at any size" tropes that are knowing lies and directly cause chronic, painful and expensive diseases.  We have run further tropes that extraordinarily high-risk behaviors, such as men screwing each other up the ass, are a fundamental human right for which others must pay all associated medical costs.  We have tried to tell the military that people who enlist with the specific goal of having a quarter million dollars of voluntary surgery done because they are unhappy with being born with a pair of testicles is not only their right but it is someone else's duty to pay for it.  And we have allowed so-called social media and political police to enforce your silent acceptance of all of those tropes lest you be attacked professionally, socially and in some cases physically.

Through all of this we have refused to hold a single health care or insurance company executive accountable for behavior that we criminalized at a felony, prison-sentence earning level nearly one hundred years ago.  We permit people to be charged 2, 5, 10 or even 100 or more times what someone else is charged for the exact same thing five minutes earlier or later in the exact same facility.  We allow "gag clauses" that prohibit anyone from discovering this garbage and we refuse to prosecute this behavior despite it being declared feloniously illegal as an obvious, transparent attempt to fix prices more than 100 years ago.

It is entirely possible to take hundreds of billions of dollars every single year out of the federal budget alone right now by simply refusing to spend one penny of public funds for treatment of one condition where the person involved insists on continuing behavior that have been scientifically proved to make said condition progressively worse every single time.  Yet not only do we refuse to take that simple and effective step Gene wishes to have the US Government declare intentionally killing yourself slowly and miserably while racking up a million dollar bill someone else has to pay a constitutionally-protected human right.

This crap and the tropes run by those who egg on this garbage must stop right damn now.

We do not have decades or more to "bend the curve."  Almost all of the Federal Debt exists on the books today as a direct consequence of the very policies that Gene has egged on from his time in the Clinton Administration forward.  If it is not stopped now within the next few years the Federal, State and Local governments will be unable to continue to fund this garbage in the debt markets and the economy, government and our civilization will collapse.

We can, today, politically shoot every single one of these people and demand Grand Juries across the nation -- federal and state -- be empaneled and start indicting every damned one of the jackasses that is destroying the budget and our nation.

Doing so is both legal and necessary.  As a pleasant side effect of such action doing so will make the entire debate about "pre-existing conditions" and "health insurance" unnecessary since virtually everyone will be able to simply pay in cash.

If we do not do so right here, right now, today then the sort of shooting that will remain available in just a few short years will only be the sort done through various and very illegal forms of violence and it will be served upon us whether we want it or not.  Not ten years from now, not 20, not "sometime next century" -- before the end of the next Presidential term.

THAT'S THE MATH FOLKS.

Virtually all of those who are currently or do become dependent on said tropes and their promoters will die horribly, either from violence as society self-destructs or, perhaps worse, slowly, painfully and inexorably as their so-called "right" to medical care runs up against the reality that there is no money to pay for it and no way to compel anyone to deliver it.

I agree 100% with the above article. And it's very rare for me to agree with anybody on anything 100%...

The more I see, the more I foresee...

And what I see is that President Trump is as good a president as America is going to get --- which is very bad news. What I foresee is the very same future that James Howard Kunsler foresees; namely, "you will soon behold the awful spectacle of the beached whale known as President Trump flopping helplessly around the mud-flats, emitting inchoate threnodies from his blowhole".

In the coming years we are going to "behold" a lot of political "blowholes" blowing a fetid mixture of blood, guts and chunks of lung as the economic tide turns leaving entire schools of fish beached....

I think that ^^^^THIS^^^^ is a very HUGE part of the reason they are ramping up their desperation to get the guns from "Law Abiding" folks.

"They" know "that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed."

And they also know that, "when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."

I just realized... they aren't saying, "Keynesian Economics"
they're saying "Kenyansian Economics". Grass Huts for everyone!

Whenever I hear someone spew the nonsense that "Healthcare is a right", my oatmeal hits the wall. Essentially, they believe in slavery. Regardless to whether a doctor is conscripted to provide service, or money is paid to him that is stolen from the labor of others, you are making some person(s) a slave to the "patient" receiving this "right."

This is the definition of "slavery"... pure and simple.

"Health care must be treated as a right". Can a 'right', any 'right', be based on a 'privilege'? EVERY healthcare provider in the US must be LICENSED in order to render care,a license by definition being a state granted privilege. A provider doesn't pay renewal fees, doesn't fulfill CE requirements, defaults on a student loan (Florida), other assorted 'misdeeds' not necessarily associated with healthcare ....poof, no license, hence no RIGHT to their services. Your 'right' is only as good as long as the 'privileged' license is valid. This is akin to the perceived right of personal police protection........

Several others have said this in different ways, but I'll say it in a different way...

If someone has a RIGHT, then someone else or others have a burden.

Example: if a person has the right to free speech, freedom of religion, freedom of the press, freedom of association, freedom to bear arms, etc., then all others bear the burden of tolerating the others' exercise of those rights. In other words, like Karl has said before, you might not like what a person has to say, but you legally have to tolerate it.

The problem with these left-wing, nutjob, socialist, Communists is that they can't differentiate in their own minds what would be nice in a perfect utopian idealist fantasy world (where of course food, healthcare, education, grants, etc.) for everyone would be nice, from reality where if a person is given said things, it by definition means that someone else is forced to produce and provide said things.

And like others have said, that is the definition of SLAVERY.

And like Karl has said, a person has the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That does not mean that others have to provide for the less-abled or the unwilling to work so that they can live. It only means that if someone attacks your life, you have the right to defend it (self-defense) and others have the right to defend your life as well.

Anyway, I don't know why I bother spelling this out since I doubt any of these lib-tards on on this blog and would even understand since they're so indoctrinated / brain-washed to the point of no return to any sense of normal societal functions....

A right is the ability to pursue. It is not a claim on other's property or talents.

When they make healthcare a right, then the door is opened to do whatever you want. Picture living in the EU where self defense is now a crime. Someone breaks into your home and you defend yourself, will put the homeowner in jail.
If they hand out healthcare like candy, then no one will care what they eat, how they exercise, what they smoke and so on. Obamacare expanded Medicaid, which is basically the FREE RIGHT INSURANCE that they want to give to everyone. Medicaid has doubled in the last decade because everyone on it believes that they have the right to use it as much as they want. They have a cold, so they call an ambulance and go to the emergency room. Just think of what it would be like if it was free for everyone and you needed to see a doctor today......Good luck, because there would be such a backlog that you will die and rot before you get to see a doctor. The wait times in the UK are exceeding 6 months or more just for basics. Add in the illegals pouring into the country with their third world diseases and the whole system implodes. As far as I am concerned, a smoker doesn't even have the right to oxygen. These people abuse themselves and then expect someone else to pay their bills.
I was curious to see how much the federal government spent on subsidies for Obamacare and found this: https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/27....

This is the deficit folks. Karl has been pounding the table for years on healthcare and now we are at the cliff.

Of course, single payer will also pay for the healthcare of illegal aliens, acting as a magnet for even more invaders. Do you think California will be checking ID's?

I do think healthcare should be a right. I have a right to diagnose and treat myself and my family whether or not I have a medical degree or license. I have a right to buy and stockpile and consume whatever medicines I choose. I have a right to import drugs from whichever supplier I decide upon (save those in embargoed enemy states). I have a right to let myself fester and die.

Well if healthcare should be a right, then everything should be a right, right? Walk into the grocery store and grab what ever you want. Go to any car dealer and drive the vehicle of your choice right off the lot. Drive your car until you find the house you want and move right in. I think this all has been tried before and failed miserably. Humans have short memories and can be very greedy and stupid.

I guess when we get to the point where the witch doctors who keep pushing this poison finally get enough fools to drink it, then we will watch this wonderful experiment in self government and freedom go down the crapper for good. When this happens all the old, infirmed and retired folks will be euthanized so the system can use their assets to provide more free stuff for the rest of the population. The intellectual and physically lazy are taking us to were we shouldn't go.

Well if I detect a true intent to "euthanize" me, and can still move, I'm going to kill as many of them as I can.

All murders after the first are free, and if you declare an intent to murder me and I believe you're serious then I'm going to get started on trying to make my score as high as possible immediately. Why would I not?

I whole heartedly agree. Thank God and our founders for the 2nd Amendment. However, I fear the day is coming where these same everything is free people are going to repeal the 2nd amendment and no too far behind will be the first.

I don't give a flying **** about the 2nd Amendment. I neither need it nor is it the most efficient.

The day some jackwad decides that murdering me is on the agenda is the day that I put in stark relief why all but the first murder is free.
