It's Called Evolution, Gentlemen (Tickerforum Changes)

In regards to old articles disappearing so that bandwidth doesn't have to be paid, that's what the Wayback Machine is for: http://archive.org/web/web.php

Might be worth submitting the Tickers as a whole as a kind of collection though...

Jeffrey: No.

You folks have an interesting view of what someone who produces a thing OWES everyone else.

Keep it up and you'll find out how fast your access to everything gets revoked.

I'll keep it short

Karl... THANK YOU... and God Bless!!!!!!

This is one of the most heart-felt, compassionate and best Tickers.... EVER!!!! So, thanks to ALL on TF

I've learned much, TF is usually the first place a visit each day... I'm taking similar actions as best and rapidly as I can for my family, and hope there will still be a place where the people who "get it" can still share. Best to all

Karl, again.... THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, Karl, for all the analysis over the years. The Market Ticker has been the first site I go to every day for years. I've sent many links to people because you've said something better than I thought I could.

I never took the trouble to figure out all the levels, so it looks like I'm about to lose some commenting ability that I only infrequently took advantage of anyway. Your Tickers are mostly so well thought out that I didn't have anything to add, and "You go, Karl!" ssemed more like noise than signal. Ah well. Actions (or inactions, in this case) have consequences.

At any rate, thank you for the content. And I salute you for having the courage and integrity to take the actions that your conscience tells you are necessary. Most people don't have that. Once I've got my situation to a point it's livable with little input, I plan to follow you.

I'm enjoying my Monday off Karl.
I see you put out a nice article today.
Maybe I'll do some chores around the house.
Being on the Extra Board for me is a nice respite.
I got a call last night at 9 telling me I will work a short run this week.
Tuesday through Saturday leave at 9 get back by 4.
That sure beats 6 am till 7 pm.

Enjoy your day.
I plan on doing so myself.

Six years on - Karl pulls firmly on the handles of his ejection seat.

Those of you keeping score at home, those of you on the fence about what is going to happen soon, how truly awful this is all going to be - God/The Universe just whispered into your ear.

You want to know what to do ? There are at least a dozen truly awesome real life examples of how to work the problem in this thread - people who have chosen to walk the walk.

Karl, we need your voice, Courage is contagious. When a brave man takes a stand, the spines of others are often stiffened.

Don't give up. Never give up. WHen the lights go out, they'll be even more roaches. It will make it far worse.

We NEED voices and honesty and resolve.

Not that hard really. I grabbed a few acres a couple of years back, got a spring fed pond. Out of the way. Blew a 300 ft driveway in last sept. Got the lot leveled. Taxes are a bit over $400 a year. The town (pop 972 people) where my new digs will be is actually closing their one room school next year.
No police, no fire dept, No stop lights. I'm on a class 6 road, so no snow removal, which is not a problem for me anyway...less taxes.

Four part time worker bees who volunteer to work in town hall...might be 5 when I get there.

I drive a hoopty Dodge with the Cummins in it. Got the zena underhood welder which doubles as a 200 amp generator. Just moved my business "on paper" to the new location. My tax liability in State here was basically zero since I do contract work for dealers in state, so no sales tax given to the State in about 10+ years. Most of my bizz is out of State anyway....so again, no taxes paid into this hell hole.

Goin' Galt really is not that hard to do. I've always lived an extremely austere lifestyle anyway so it was no great change for me. Gonna build my new workshop "on wheels" 10 FT x 40 FT, so no permanent structure on the new property to get taxed...LOL. Everything by the book. Legal. No friggin foot print.

Got together with a whole group of pissed off business people, primarily in my industry last month down south, road the Blue Ridge PKWY, we came up with some rather excellent LEGAL ways to starve the beast. Think outside the box and it is easy. Like I used to say.... when swimming in a river of shit, do not swim upstream, head for shore.

Very easy to do.

The biggest need for america right now is TRUTH, and much of the mass media have abandoned it. Good news is their readership is falling, folks are turning to people the trust to get the truth.

We need critical thinkers to find the corroborating facts, you do that well Karl. From the fraud BC, to the Zimmerman arrest, to the exposure that the math behind taxes to pay the national debt are not plausible, these are EXTREMELY valuable posts, Karl.

My sense is the world is going sociopathic, I see it in FB debates, there is a mob of people who just flat out reject facts, and rely on opinion and feelings to debate and choose policy.

The GOOD people have to make a stand here folks. Karl, you are GOOD PEOPLE.

Humbly requesting you keep corresponding, work on rallying the OBJECTIVE thinkers, not converting the rest. The bribes of gov't handouts will never be overcome by the reality of history and math.

My favorite quote you posted is "A citizen will never admit to that which he is paid to ignore", something like that.

You are an icon, Karl, a beacon of light. Keep shining, let the reward of speaking truth forcefully be your inspiration.

Truth always wins in the end. You will be a winner.

Question for Karl and others:

I'm taking the path not of getting rid of a house, but trying to fully pay off our house and land. We have enough to sustain ourselves in terms of food if we had to, but a long ways from going off-grid.

The larger immediate step I would love to take is removing myself from the health insurance system (as it is called) and paying cash for basic care. However, we are a family that needs catastrophic insurance. We have just enough in assets to be fully or half-wiped out in the event of a serious accident or disease (sure I'll shop if I can but if my kid is hit by a car while on a bicycle, I'm going to want immediate modern care).

Has anyone come up with an alternative way to get catastrophic-only outside of the ACA?

for that. Like Atlasrocked said, you are an icon and a hero to many.

My SO just got his letter of insurance cancellation TODAY from his insurance company. So, as of tomorrow, he has no health insurance. Nice notice, huh ?

He just hopped in the car, is on his way to the bank to cash out all his accounts and cds, called his re agent to put his property up for sale, and he's quit. Done. He hit his limit on the lies and scamming he can tolerate without taking immediate action.

Seems like there's a lot of people who are hitting their limits all at once. They may not realize it yet, and it may stumble on for a while yet, but the criminals in DC's days are numbered.

Someday I'd love to see a collection of Tickers in book form. Especially the Tickers of the last week or two. Just WOW!

Several lurking, non-paying-ever, members with single digit post counts chime in to criticise that Karl is taking away the punch bowl.

That there is part of the problem. But TF has always had a few of those who revealed by their comportment, in stark detail, the issues we face.

I know my solution is unpopular, but I moved 4+ years ago and Leviathan gets almost none of my money (wire maintenance cash into accounts occasionally). Also, and this is very telling, overseas life is often NATURALLY more 'Galt' as you must learn to *ahem* garden, repair your own stuff, build it, maintain it, and people get by with far far less.

My TV is sitting behind me, unplugged and covered with a table cloth. Still trying to get someone to take it away. It's a behemoth ~1996, nearly half a cubic yard in volume and weighs ~200lbs.

So that's one solution that you all may try if you wish. It ain't easy, and there are additional issues to work through, but it CAN be done if one commits. Oh, and it takes FAR less cash than you think.
