Joesswan,
Can personally attest to the wonders of a primal diet. After reading about a "wheat belly" (and doing nothing special whatsoever other than eliminate wheat in my diet) I went down two belt notches in the first 2 weeks. Wheat for many people is a trigger to overeat. It makes you constantly hungry.
Starting a wheat-free diet made me want to jump under a train during the first week. Not exaggerating, I was that addicted. (I have now greatly upped my level of sympathy/empathy for people trying to quit smoking.) After a full week the wheat cravings disappeared completely and now I miss meals without a second thought-- just forget to eat sometimes, totally not hungry.
Be sure to check out the "Wheat Belly" book, but you can also get the bulk of the main ideas over at www.wheatbellyblog.com . As others have mentioned, MarksDailyApple.com is also great and has more recipe ideas than the Wheat Belly site.
