Here we go!

First up is the.... market?

Futures look that way.

Will it hold? Good question. PG reported and the market didn't like it. Their earnings weren't awful, but their forward outlook wasn't what people were looking for. They had good profit growth, but guess what - it came from overseas! Big surprise - NOT.

As noted, Circuit City imploded last night. Gee, you think that might be the consumer who's pulling back? Yep.

Housing bottoming? Bah. Not a prayer. And you know that "consumer is overextended" thing I've been harping about? People are starting to pick up on it.

Vehicle sales are getting whacked, which of course is one of the places that people pull back when they start to get pinched. "The old car still runs; screw it, we'll put up with the engine burning more oil than gas for another year."

The Nikkei was down significantly overnight, arguably on the back of our decline yesterday.

Avon reported good results, but again, the story was ex-US. Inside the US revenue growth was an anemic 3%. Ex-inflation and population growth their numbers for the US were down. Gee, another one?

ADM reported increased net, but below analysts forecasts. Ethanol was pretty much the story there... but not enough to make it all work. This could be kinda ugly going forward....

Oh, and the latest threat to the market? A new study by the Senate on changing how private equity is taxed.....
