Chicago Is Dying, And Rahm's At Fault

Someone has to say it; may as well be me.

Two more teens have been charged in connection in the deadly attack on a 62-year-old man last week that was recorded and posted on Facebook the same day a judge denied bond for a 16-year-old.

Nicholas Ayala, 17, and Anthony Malcolm, 18, were each charged with first-degree murder and robbery in the slaying of Delfino Mora, according to Chicago police.

There has been an alarming increase in the number of assaults of this general sort of late, from "wilding" to gangs of young people targeting some victim and video taping the assault for "bragging rights" on various social media.

What's missing is any reasonable ability of the general population to resist these murderous thugs.

This must end, now.

These sorts of attacks are uncommon to unheard of here in Florida.  Oh sure, we get the occasional face-eating Zombie attack from someone jacked up on bath salts, but there's one difference that's important between Chicago and places like Miami: If you pull something like this in Miami there's a decent chance that your victim will be armed and will resist your attempt to kill him.

Knowledge of that fact -- that law-abiding citizens can (and some do) carry concealed weapons contributes to a dramatic decrease in the willingness of gang-bangers to pull this sort of crap in our fine state.

Oh sure, the gang-bangers still shoot at each other, and still are crappy marksmen.  I don't care, for the record, if two gang-bangers want to shoot each other.  I do very much care that they suck at target selection, marksmanship and trigger control, and as a consequence often shoot innocent bystanders by mistake.

But the sort of "wilding" incidents that are becoming all-to-common in Chicago (and for the record, I know exactly where this incident took place and it's not an area that I would associate with this sort of violence) occur due to the fact that the gang bangers know there are no law-abiding citizens with defensive weapons on their person, as carrying them is illegal.

Therefore it's a "free fire" zone for the thugs, or, in this case, a "free beating zone."

That's unacceptable and since criminals by definition ignore the law there is only one way to solve the problem -- respect The Second Amendment.

Had Mr. Mora been armed he might still be alive; his blood is on Rahm Emanuel's hands and until the city changes its stripes and laws I strongly urge all to avoid the "Free Fire" zone that Chicago has become.

Mr. Denninger, nothing you said is even remotely controversial. Chicago is going straight down the toilet, and I agree a large part of it is because citizens are rendered incapable of defending themselves.

When I found out a friend was going to Chicago for her honeymoon, I asked a guy from there, "Who goes to Chicago for a honeymoon?"

He said, "Somebody who's never been."

I was up there this weekend; Actually far NW Burbs, to visit my buddies. I saw this crap on the news. They asked me if this is going on where I live in Kentucky. They figure that it is worse here since everyone has guns. I said hell no we don't have that since a perp knows he would probably buy it if he tried. I told my friends the only place I don't feel safe is at work. That's because I'm not allowed to carry in the office.

Amen.

This is one of the major differences between Detroit and Chicago, the latter of which is far more dangerous than the former, despite Detroit's abysmal economic and physical state.

Wait. You can post video of a beat down including someone's death on Facebook?

Is there still a "like" thumbs up next to it?

I agree Fraudster take away the guns from law abiding citizens and only the Chicago thugs/gangs have guns! This is definitely Rahm's fault along with the Black Community Leaders since the Black leader's were complaining about the "aggressive" (lol) tactics of the anti-gang squads so Rahm disbanded them. In a way though the Black community is now reaping what it sowed in Chicago they asked for this and they got it!

"Even as violent crime has decreased in cities such as New York and Los Angeles, the murder rate soared here by 38 per cent in the first six months of the year. There were 259 murders in that period, with another 18 so far in July.

"This is a block-to-block war here, a different dynasty on every street," said a dreadlocked young man heavily inked in gang tattoos who calls himself "Killer".
"All the black brothers just want to get rich, but we got no jobs and no hope. We want the violence to stop but you ain't safe if you ain't got your pistol with you. Too many friends, too many men are being killed. We don't even cry at funerals no -more. Nobody expects to live past 21 here."

The victims and killers are mainly black males aged between 15 and 35, often with gang affiliations - but not exclusively. A seven-year-old girl, Heaven Sutton, was buried this month after being gunned down at her mother's street sweet store. And last week, two girls aged 12 and 13 were shot and badly-wounded as they walked home from a newly-opened community centre.

There have also been recent gang reprisal attacks along the city centre's "Magnificent Mile", an impressive stretch of skyscrapers and up-market stores, prompting fears that the violence is spreading.

The mayhem, playing out within ambulance siren range of the Chicago home of Barack and Michelle Obama, has not just put a city on edge. It is also unleashing a passionate national debate on policing tactics.

For the upsurge in gang killings has followed a decision by the city's mayor Rahm Emanuel and police chief Garry McCarthy, both new in the job last year, to dismantle specialist anti-gang units and instead switch more officers to the beat.

But many terrorised locals are now pleading for a return to the aggressive stop-and-frisk tactics of the task forces that were long decried by black community leaders."

I don't want them to change a thing. The idiots, i.e. voters, in chicago who have created this are getting exactly what they deserve. You always get the government you deserve...

Just like obamao... when he is re-elected, we deserve it.

Thankfully, I am finally about to leave illinois. We're about to close on a 5 acre farm in Indiana and GTFO of here.

Restore Constitutional Carry in Chicago and the murder rate will drop 80% within a year.

And that stuff does not happen here in Oklahoma either. A lot of folks pack heaters, including myself. And quite a few of the people I work with are applying for permits, since I constantly urge folks to do so. Amazingly no one is insulted when I tell them to go get one. Starting in November, open carry will be legal for permit holders only, though I am not sure how many will practice this. Concealed is better, element of surprise. Oklahoma's permit is good in 33 other states as well.

I carry a Kimber 1911 in .45ACP with a spare magazine, and a North American Arms .32 Guardian with one spare mag. Also two folding knives, a small flashlight and a Leatherman utility tool.

Yeah, I am prepared.

The Progressive Paradise that spend years upon years and millions of dollars all to prevent a 70+ year old Black man from having a gun in his own home.

Good job progressives !

I am very surprised that we haven't heard of any Paul Kersey's (aka Charles Bronson) popping up in Chicago. That is the kind of individual these types of situations breed.

Unfortunately, what they are doing is ruining the rest of the state as well as Chicago. I grew up in rural Illinois but the reason I won't move back there are all due to Chicago politics. First, that I can't carry a gun. Secondly, that the state is going broke and trying to tax its productive citizens into failure.

Interesting factoid: the governorship was won by only 2 counties: Cook (ie Chicago) and Sangamon (contains the capital Springfield). He had a minority of the vote "downstate"... which is everywhere except Chicago.

Karl, I grew up two blocks away from where this happened....my parents still live there..for the last 50 years....This was always a peaceful area...There are
still old timers who have lived there for decades, senior citizens now who refuse to leave...I spoke to my father about this and he said the victim would come by going through garbage cans (looking for aluminum cans) that were located in the alleys...He said the victim was a very personable guy who was a fixture in the neighborhood...What has happened to that neighborhood is a tragedy...Ever since Daley knocked down Cabrini Green (housing projects)the whole area has become section 8(subsidized housing)....Up to this incident petty crimes etc...real tragedy....

The new pension plan idea is that they will push all pension obligations to the local counties\cities instead of the state handling them. They can't fix it politically, so they are going to punt. When they do that it's estimated that property taxes alone will need to go up by 20% to cover the shortfalls. If you're here when that happens you are trapped, because NOBODY will move into that property tax bill.

My current property taxes in Illinois: $5500. The farm I'm about to buy: $721.

Insane.

070: I lived at 1135 West Newport for a while (townhouse, I owned it) and had friends all around the near-Northside from North Avenue up to Evanston.

I'm VERY familiar with the area.

Sounds like Chicago will become Detroit over night with that one. They keep trying the same old tricks and expect a different answer. For the sake of the rest of the Midwest they should build a big fence around ****own and keep the criminals inside.

Anyone with any money will flee and all that will be left are the poor. Once a city starts turning you better be one of the first to sell and leave or you will be caught continuing to attempt to sell your house but the market will drop faster than you can cut your price until most people are underwater on their mortgages and start walking and then you will be Detroit with houses selling for less than $10,000!

Chicago is one of the cities that we can't ship pepper spray or stun guns too. They don't allow thier citizens to defend themselves in any way. Fortunately, the suburbs don't follow the same reasoning. We ship a lot of stuff to most of the suburbs, but always get the question if it's legal or not.

Defending yourself in any way is a right that the city took away from the people. Liberals are brain dead when it comes to common sense and until they are personally violated, this will not change. When something does happen to them, they scream the loudest.

I am going to contact the gang task force to see if they have an interest in any of our toys. Chicago is just the start of things to go bad. I deal with police officers throughout the country and am hearing the same thing that things are really getting worse. In California, they are not going out on calls unless it's a murder, robbery in progress or anything major. Forget domestic disputes, burlaries, etc etc. One cop told me that they don't even let their cars idle anymore because they are trying to save money........
